Precision CNC Machining Services

Seven processes under one roof in Newport, PA, from complex 5-axis milling, twin-spindle live-tool turning, Swiss screw machining, EDM, finishing, and in-house inspection. Prototype to production on the same floor with the same team.

Overview

NTM is a family-owned, ISO 9001:2015 certified precision CNC machine shop in Newport, PA, operating since 1972, with 40+ machinists across a 50,000 sq ft floor. Every process runs from the same dock, so your job stays on one floor regardless of what it requires.

What started as a one-man shop with three manual machines in 1972 is now one of the largest concentrations of machining talent in Perry County. Three generations of toolmakers, the same family ownership, the same address, and an in-house capability list that handles prototypes through full production for most jobs without ever leaving the building.

Whether you’re starting with a finished drawing or need help building one in SolidWorks, the programmer working on your part is the same machinist running it through the floor. No corporate layers. No handoffs. No miscommunication between departments.

Why “one floor” matters.

Every service runs from the same dock in Newport, PA, milling, turning, EDM, grinding, finishing, and inspection. The programmer who builds your prototype is the same machinist running production. If a drawing needs to change between the two, we adjust before a single production part runs. Standard heat treat and finishing handled in-house; specialty processes outside our capabilities go to trusted partners we’ve worked with for years. No miscommunication. No gaps between intent and execution.

How It Works

How a job moves through NTM

01

Drawing Review

We review your drawings, or build one with you in SolidWorks if you’re starting from scratch. Every decision that follows is built around your part.

02

Programming

Your program is built in Mastercam or Esprit by machinists with 30+ years of programming experience, the same people who will run your part.

03

Setup

We select the right process and equipment, mill, lathe, Swiss, EDM, or grinder, and configure the setup for prototype or volume production.

04

Machining

Your part runs across whatever combination of processes it needs. Heat treat and blackening stay in-house so your job never leaves the building.

05

Inspection

Every order ships with documented inspection using Helmel CMM, Nikon optical comparator, and Mitutoyo vision equipment. Nothing leaves without a record.

Questions, Answered

Frequently asked questions

NTM offers seven precision machining processes under one roof: CNC milling (3, 4, and 5-axis), CNC turning, Swiss screw machining, wire & sinker EDM, surface grinding, in-house heat treat and blackening, and documented precision inspection on every order.
Yes, that’s exactly what NTM does best. Because every process is in-house, a single job can move from milling to grinding to heat treat to inspection without leaving the building. Your job stays on one dock from the first chip to the final report.
Both. Prototype and production run on the same floor with the same team, on the same equipment. If you have a part that’s never been made before, we sit down with you, build the drawing in SolidWorks, work through programming, and move into production when you’re ready.
NTM is ISO 9001:2015 certified through 2029 and holds a Type 7 Federal Firearms License as a manufacturer of firearm components. The shop has produced parts for military programs including the Patriot Missile system since 1991.
Aerospace, medical, military & defense, firearm, electronics & fiber optics, advanced marine, entertainment, and aviation & mass transit. From Patriot Missile components in 1991 to marine stabilizers and stage hardware for major live tours, NTM has handled demanding work across five decades.

Have a part that needs more than one process?

That’s where NTM does best. Milling, turning, EDM, grinding, finishing, and inspection all run under one roof, so your job stays on one floor from drawing to dock.
